If you're in mountain mood, I can recommend you go to the following two places.
1. Go along the road between the Polish village of Glinka to the Slovakian village Novot. It's a tiny, bad village road, but these are places completely off the main tracks and the mountains are oooh and aaaah.

2. The town of Oravský Podzámok. I'm not known for my love of castles but this was really surprisingly neat, with a nice river and the whole atmosphere of the place was so cool.
